SCCAW President Update January 2012

The next scheduled meeting for SCCAW will be on Thursday, January 19 at 7:00 PM in the basement training room (rear of building) of the County Administration Building, 250 N Main, Richfield. We will feature Sevier County Economic Development Director Mr. Malcolm Nash with a presentation on his department’s role in the future of our county. It will be followed by a question and answer session. Please bring your neighbors and friends.
Sevier Power Company LLC, proposed natural gas fired power plant update
Sevier Power Company filed their application with Utah’s Division of Air Quality (UDAQ) on September 9. I do not yet have a schedule for all of the activities that occur in the approval process but it starts by asking federal land managers for comments, then moves to the civilian arena. Early on is a “public comment period.” The entire process could take anywhere from 6-12 months. Please come and see what you can do to monitor this process and make your comments be heard. When this process is complete we want to assure ourselves that we have been granted the most stringent air quality standards achievable for our communities.
New County Commissioners Meetings Dates:
Sevier County, Utah Commissioners NEW MEETING DATES Second and fourth Monday of each month, all starting at 1:30 PM in the County Administration Building, 250 N Main, Richfield
The Sevier County Planning and Zoning Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month Sevier County Administration Building, 250 N Main, Richfield, 5:30 PM.
